Funny haha, but pidgeons are in every city because it was trendy to keep them as pets. As some people are shitty, they released them out. They make great pets compared to parrots - they are affectionate, don’t scream all the time (which is an evolutionary tactic the parrots use to survive), can be pet on the wings without making the bird unhealthy (parrots get hormonal, you can only touch the head) etc etc. When getting birds in a humane home (i.e. let them out of the cage most of the time) they are a great choice for a first bird. And yet people buy a parrot and are disappointed because it acts like a 5 year old on crack
