The project red just became available where I’m from. I’m thinking of getting it, but there is also the Hexa to consider. Where I’m from, both of these are a pretty sizable investment so they’ll probably be my primary pair for a few years to come.
I already own the Salnotes Zero, Koss KSC75, KZ EDX Pro (slowly dying) and the Venture Electronics Monk Plus. Due to most of these having close to neutral tuning (not counting the KZs here on as they barely work), I’m leaning towards the Project Red for a different, warmer signature. The lower price tag helps too. But I’ve heard great things about the Hexa and being touted as a Blessing 2 Lite has got me thinking. What’s your take? TIA

I think I watched the Crinacle review on the hexa and he said that it is called a blessing 2 lite rather because it excels in its price-range than the actual sound signature and quality. But of course he says that because he made the friggin project red for truthear and the blessing 2 collab for moondrop.
I would say there are other IEMs than Truthear.
I’m also eyeing the non Red Zeroes. I can just EQ them, they’re much cheaper
I think crinacle also said there was a bit more to it than tuneing between the two. Red Zero not only has restructured insides, it also comes with an ohm resistor to make the bass hit harder. Also I think there are an array of differently tuned tips it comes with.
Why go lower in price when you already experienced lower end stuff?
You are having defeat in detail. One pretty well priced and well made piece might last you a lot longer. You may even resell it if you get bored of it.

This resonated with me. That’s a fair point, I already have some pretty good budget stuff. Guess I’ll save for the Hexa or something else that might come alone in the next half year.
Iirc Resolve still viewed the Hexa as the better of the two, but I’m sure they’re very similar in quality. Wish I could try em myself
The excitement of the launch died down for me. Guess I’ll wait to try them and make my decision.
