    It might also be the increased digital connectivity that has come with advances in bandwidth and data sizes.

    Edit: great magazine by the way, this is the first time I’ve seen it.

      That’s also what bars have to compete with, other forms of entertainment. I found that gen z, and quite frankly everyone else is glued to these phones even in social situations. I found it strange going to house parties or any other kinds of social events people are looking down at their phones all the time. I’m also a smart phone addict too, so.

        Good point. Everyone does it but it’s more marked in Z perhaps.

        I have a series of photos I took after a funeral, where all the different generations are talking/comiserating and eating, but there’s one room where all the GenZ have congregated and they’re all sitting looking at their phones.

        I just thought of another aspect, the rise of more nuanced dating aps. When I was young I basically had to go out all the time to find/meet a potential mate.
