A person choosing to hurt, punish, rape, and murder another over a piece of clothing is a personal choice.

Me sitting at home disagreeing with how my government is run and writing to my representatives to tell them that is a personal choice.

Do you see how these choices are not the same?

I think there may be a misunderstanding here. I was replying to your assertion that all citizens of America are responsible for the actions of their government. I was trying to say that individual action of an individual (such as enforcing hateful rules or engaging in violence) is a personal action committed by a person. That person is responsible for their actions directly.

        No comparison.

Condemning the way actual citizens act doesn’t compare to what a government does. I can not kill people but I individually can’t stop my government from doing it

Because you dared criticize a religion. The same thing happened to me after making a comment about Islam and Judaism.

Seems the zealots have an agenda

The other guy generalised ‘Muslim men’, who number in the hundreds of millions. Why is it unfair to generalise people like you?

The other guy was talking about shit muslim men being like this, and shit muslim men being not a small minority, in syria for example. My (syrian) gf and her mom told me that before they left, her mom was often harassed for not wearing a hijab, pushed out of a bus once. You’re saying that any american is responsible for the actions of their government, which is just not true seeing how bad the us gov is.

I don’t think it’s comparable, even if I understand that saying “muslim men” is not the best choice. I don’t know of any other word though.

Fundamentalists, orthodox etc. People are just lazy and too used to seeing ‘video game wars’ but never really giving it any thought, thinking of Muslims as people - tbf, the US has very few Muslims, and the few they have are mostly wealthy, somewhat liberal and assimilated.

My whole account is getting brigaded with downvotes after I made this comment. This place is turning into Reddit.
