Mute PS5 beep sound. You can now mute or adjust the volume of the PS5’s beep sound when turning it on or off, or putting it in rest mode.

Also now support up to 8TB ssd’s. (Previously up to 4)

The accessability features sound nice. I like the haptic feedback in menus

      Ok, what is Atmos?

Edit: Oh, nvm it’s sound stuff. I’m sure it’ll sound great from our TV’s stock speakers :|

PS5 has had simulated 3D audio for TV stereo speakers (and headphones) for a while. Now they’ll add discrete 3D to people with real speaker sets

They are adding their Tempest 3D Technology to Home Theatre Systems by using the Dolby Atmos channels including overhead/height speakers…. Thats pretty awesome.

They still need to add the ability to disable the blocked scene notification.

I have a surround set with support for Atmos. I have no speakers at the ceiling or anything. Will I notice any difference when I’m using surround now?

The Dolby Atmos feature works great, even on my bog standard TV speakers. Much better than their previous effort at 3D audio, which just ended up making everything more tinny.
