When I remember I add bits and pieces to my journal (I go through stages and then forget to collect stuff). I mostly use double-sided tape from the paint department at my local hardware store but I have a bottle of clear Elmers glue too, since I’ve seen that recommended quite a bit.
I used the glue to add some business cards from a local restaurant, only they were gloss cards and the glue gave out completely within a week, leaving a nice glossy expanse of nothing.
What do you use to add things to your journal? Any brand you swear by, or would avoid like the plague?
I haven’t had the best luck with Elmer’s either. You can’t go wrong with Uhu’s acid-free glue sticks. Sadly they’ve become way over-priced here in Canada, so I’ve switched to Pritt’s. I mostly use them for sticking photos, ticket stubs or printouts in my journal.
I’ve been using the kokuyo dot liner for years and I have no complaints.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll see if I can find a local supplier to give them a go.
Funnily enough I was just watching Jetpens “what’s new” video and thought the Kokuyo products would be worth a look.
I discovered removable glue dots. Using them now with my Hobo.
Do they add much bulk to the pages? I tend to stick my photos in the same spot on every page and if the dots add a bump, I start getting frustrated by the lack of a flat surface.
I’d guess it depends on the thickness of what you are pasting. They’re thin and I’ve only put down postcard like items. There is a double sided sticky tape out there too that’s thinner. The dots are easier to manage. The tape a little messier. They both come in a self applying dispenser. I got mine off of Amazon. The tape is not temporary. You’ll need to be precise your first time applying it.
