That was my thought exactly. I mean I do wipe the fingerprints and any smudges off when needed, but that’s about it.
Do you have it in a case?
Because if you ever need to take it in to repair, I’m not sure they’ll appreciate having to take your dusty phone out.
Yes, I do have it in a case. If I should ever need to take it into repair, I’ll be sure and take the case off and clean the phone first.
It’s not like you could clean the dust inside.
Just by putting your phone in your pocket and walking around, you’re essentially wiping it all around.

Yeah. They’re germ magnets, worse than doorknobs. I have a waterproof phone and just wash it when I wash my hands; before that I used alcohol wipes.
never. never even considered it, actually. it’s in my pocket most of the time I’m not using it and I dont let other people touch it.
Maybe once every 5 years when I get a new phone.

Never, unless the screen gets too smudgy. Then I’ll just lick it.

I have an app to do the first on it’s own whenever junk data gets over a specific size. I clean the actual phone only when stuff gets under the screen protector.
I wipe mine down every day. I don’t use a case and I work in a hospital full of germs.
I wipe mine down with isopropyl on a paper towel daily.
Thats not good for the conductive layer of the screen. It can lead to problems with it after a while.

I’ve had my phoen for over 3.5 years (got it right when covid started) and have cleaned it daily with disinfectant and there are no issues.
What is the best alternative?
I was told by the guy in a phone shop that most phones just need a damp cloth across the screen at worst. I think they sell water-based cleaners in the phone shops too. It depends on the manufacturers recommendation a bit too. One brand is called Eco I think. Usually comes as a small kit for a coupla quid.
It’s okay; I’m only wiping down the case, which has a built-in screen protector. No alcohol is actually touching the screen.
Physically clean it with like a cloth or clean it as in remove pics and apps and stuff?

At random times, honestly. Usually when I am bored and get the phone out of the case just to see how dirty the sides and back are. Along with that, I clean the display as well, though with only a fiber clothing.
Practically every day. I take public transportation so when I get home I’ll use a disinfectant wipe on it to kill any germs. It’s a habit that’s stuck with me since the pandemic and it’s just nice to have a clean phone.
Pretty much the same here, but ever since phones became waterproof, I started giving my phone (case and all) a washdown with dishwashing soap
Every time it’s been outside the house, or as needed (fingerprints etc). I use alcohol-based disinfectant on a piece of soft paper towel.
I just give mine a good lickdown before bed every night.
Honestly, once every 3-4 months I take the case out and give it a wipe with the help of isopropyl alcohol. I thought I was dirty, but I’m seeing that I’m one of the cleaner people.
