Yeah, no, this isn’t exactly unpopular on the majority of Lemmy lmao. With how reductive the Republican party is being, particularly towards foreign policy, I wouldn’t put backdoor deals out of the question. HOWEVER, there is no physical proof that they aren’t just aggressively trying to isolate America for their own America first reasons. Perhaps it is explained by Hanlon’s razor for all we know
Don’t let them off that easy. They are not victims of some KGB style program or espionage trickery. They did this to themselves. They chose this knowing full well what they were doing.
