You’re have to ask someone (besides yourself) who’s seen the film. I haven’t even read the book in english.
Since it’s about a woman who witnesses a suicide, is raped, gets forced into a life of sexwork, and eventual husband offs himself, yeah “depressing” sounds about right. 🤔
