zetaphor just pointed this out to me, I thought maybe we had federation problems with it. No, you just need to set a language, at least for this version of lemmy.

Nice! I’ve also noticed I’m unable to post to threads from lemmy.world, the icon just spins.
Huh, I’m pretty sure I’ve there before. Even if you set your language? I wonder if their updates/server stability would cause issues**___**
So, post-update, I’m now able to comment on lemmy.ml posts! Still no luck with creating posts on some servers though.
Oh! Didn’t realize that would change. Which servers are you having trouble with? And I guess what version of Lemmy are they running? You can go to the remote site and on the bottom it’ll have a number by the Modlog button.
I’m mostly having trouble with lemmy.world I believe their version is as follows:
UI: 0.18.1-rc.10
BE: 0.18.1-rc.9-14-ge71951309
In addition, have you set a default language in your profile?
I just did, but it almost seemed like there wasn’t an option to not have your language set.
It’s unset by default, which is confusing
Ah, gotcha!
Can you please make sure you have a default language set in your user profile? That has also been known to cause some issues
Gotcha, I updated, but the behavior seems to the same. It’s weird, the default language is set, but the language dropdown for posts/comments never defaults to my chosen language.
Yeah that one is an annoying bug. Thankfully if you’re interacting with any Lemmy servers running 0.18.x, you can just not choose anything to make a comment reply. Previously you had to select a language or the reply button would spin endlessly and silently fail.
