How do y’all store food and keep all your gear safe when in mountain goat country? I normally just hang my food bag from my hammock suspension and I’ve never been bothered by any critters, including goats, but I’m taking a trip in a few weeks where I have heard they can be pretty bold in search of the salt from sweat (and urine). I read a story of someone who left their pack and some gear outside their tent and a goat destroyed stuff and threw some of it in a stream! I don’t want to take a bear can, but I would if absolutely necessary. Anyone ever heard of goats getting into a hammock camper’s stuff? Are they going to drag away anything I leave on the ground? Maybe I should hang low to the ground and make it hard to get under my tarp? Looking for actual experiences, not just theories, unless you know of some relevant study data. Thanks!
