My family will be resuming their annual Adirondack camping trip this summer and I would like to try hammock-camping this year. The thing is, I can’t think of a single Adirondack camping trip I’ve gone on where it didn’t rain hard at least one day. Would a 12’ hex-tarp provide adequate coverage from the wind and rain for a 10.5’ hammock? Or would it be smarter to spend a bit more (double) on a more enclosed tarp like the Onewind Billow?

Other than this trip, I will be doing most of my hammock camping near Portland, OR where I currently live and it rains here constantly.
