So here’s the thing… You said a “jackdaw is a crow.” Is it in the same family? Yes. No one’s arguing that. As someone who is a scientist who studies crows, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls jackdaws crows. If you want to be “specific” like you said, then you shouldn’t either. They’re not the same thing. If you’re saying “crow family” you’re referring to the taxonomic grouping of Corvidae, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to ravens. So your reasoning for calling a jackdaw a crow is because random people “call the black ones crows?” Let’s get grackles and blackbirds in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It’s not one or the other, that’s not how taxonomy works. They’re both. A jackdaw is a jackdaw and a member of the crow family. But that’s not what you said. You said a jackdaw is a crow, which is not true unless you’re okay with calling all members of the crow family crows, which means you’d call blue jays, ravens, and other birds crows, too. Which you said you don’t. It’s okay to just admit you’re wrong, you know?

It’s a copypasta from, what I’m inferring, is before your time.

A man named Unidan became a beloved figure of the reddit community, akin to /u/Poem_For_Your_Sprog, fucking /u/shittymorph, etc. He would glide into threads, drop bird facts and then talk with the people who replied to his comments before fluttering away.

Fast forward to the jackdaw incident where he very incorrectly stated the paragraph above, and that’s about all I know besides his reddit fame imploded afterwards. I want to say there was more of him being a fucker to it, but I didn’t care enough to remember.

You’re only forgetting that he was using alt accounts to upvote himself and steer the points.

Lol, I had to make an assumption so I assumed what I thought would be least insulting. Either way - I’ve given you part of the story, Obi gave you the rest.

A Raven, also known as a Giga-Crow, landed outside my fence the other day, and I felt blessed.

Is that even a crow? The eye looks wrong. Most crows I’ve seen have full black eyes.

It’s a Grackle which is not a crow but looks, sounds, and acts like one

So here’s the thing… I said a “crow is a grackle.” Is it in the same family? No. No one’s arguing that. As someone who is a scientist who studies memes, I am telling you, specifically, in science, everyone calls the Grackle of Judgement a Crow. If you want to be “specific” like you said, then you shouldn’t either. They’re not the same thing. If you’re saying “birb family” you’re referring to the taxonomic grouping of The Word, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to birb is the words. So your reasoning for calling a crow a grackle is because scientist people “call the black ones grackles?” Let’s get ravens and jackdaws in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It’s not one or the other, that’s not how taxonomy works. They’re both. This grackle is a crow and a member of the meme family. But that’s not what you said.
