I think so as well, once Ukraine runs through their current stocks of western weapons they can’t be easily replaced. Ukraine is also losing a lot of its motivated and experinced soldiers who are being replaced by conscripts who are untrained and unmotivated.

Once the offensive burns out, Russia will be marching against a depleted and demoralized army.

Why? It would be a nightmare. Bakhmut/Artemovsk was bad enough, and it was a small town. A proper megapolis like Kiev would be a massacre for either side

Bakhmut was heavily fortified from 2014 and it was the USA , frenchies who helped the strategic defenses of Bakhmut , now “If” Ukrainian military collapses within this year. Russians will go for Kiev to remove the government once in for all. US will always act as a bogeyman if Russians let them go off the hook. 2ndly Wagner did all the urban fighting for Bakhmut , it was a big deal for Yankees not for Russians

Was it? The war was in Donbass , they heavily fortified Donbass, Avdeevka, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut were very strategic regions for UAF.

You know what, I’ll have to check. I was sure there was trench digging and arming civvies, but not sure anymore. So I’ll go check
