Turns out pretending to be an opposition party is wildly profitable. What other job is there where you can work four months out of the year, make millions, and all you have to do is just make a few promises to your district’s peons and then claim you’re powerless to fulfill them?

That sounds like a winning attitude, bud. If we all voted for a willing candidate, they win. Thats it. So go vote and it doesn’t matter if they’re tepid bitches. We still beat Project 2025. Chin up, ranked choice is next after this.

        You’re right.

It doesn’t. We’ve seen over the last forty years that it doesn’t matter who you vote for. We get a conservative. They rule as a conservative, and because of that, fascism is inevitable.

Yes, your choice is between a conservative and a fascist.

One of these two will murder you. The other won’t. How is this even a remotely difficult decision for you?

(also the current “conservative” has supported the biggest expansion in union membership the USA has seen in decades, brought antitrust lawsuits against Amazon and Facebook, and extracted billions in back taxes from Microsoft, just to name a few of the actually legitimately good things the Biden administration has done; “both sides” is bullshit spread by Republicans to keep you from voting)

            No, he hasn’t.

It happened by necessity, because the cost of living has doubled and tripled depending on where you live, meanwhile hundreds of billions that should be aiding Americans are going to other countries’ wars.

brought antitrust lawsuits against Amazon and Facebook

And if anything ever comes of it (which I doubt) I’ll be happy to give credit. Right now, it’s just performative.

extracted billions in back taxes from Microsoft

And also targeted the gig economy by pushing for changes in bank regulations that would require reporting on smaller accounts, just like an asshole conservative would.

I only wish the ‘both sides’ thing were bullshit, but I guess it’ll take another 40 years of empty promises to change your mind.

I’m not going to get into it about the good things that have come out of Biden’s presidency, because I don’t have to. No matter how bad you think Biden is, it’s a provable fact that Trump is worse.

So you can vote for bad or you can vote for worse. This is still a choice that even a concussed child is capable of figuring out. What’s your excuse?

                That’s where you’re wrong.

It’s not a choice, and that’s how it’s designed to be.

You can’t give me a giant douche and a turd sandwich and then pretend you’re offering me anything of value, and in our system, they’re both just useful idiots for the billionaire class.

Also, I wouldn’t go with brain injury metaphors if you’re a Democratic partisan.

I’m a “not seeing America fall into total fascism” partisan. Everything else is irrelevant.

Yes, the choice you are being given is fucking terrible. I’m so sorry, not one single person involved had the decency to provide you with a perfect utopian option that’s completely viable and solves all your problems. You’re also the only person who has noticed this, and you’re super duper smart for figuring it out and repeatedly pointing it out to everyone around you.

There is a choice. You might hate that choice, but it still exists. You can vote against the fascists, or you can help them win. That’s it. Those are your options. Those options suck. But unless you can provide a viable and realistic third option that does not result in your country ending up in the hands of an imperial president with an openly stated agenda to turn the country into a Christian-Nationalist theocracy, you need to nut the fuck up and do the right thing on election day.

Every day before and after election day, I strongly encourage you to keep working on making a real progressive future possible. But not on election day. On election day you either make the pragmatic choice, or you decide that feeling good about how smugly superior you are is more important than the life of every marginalized person you know.

Then go run yourself out there. You dont have to be an idle watcher. Run for your local government.
