It was no where near the level of hatred they had for Jews, but many of the major denominations were… removed or pulled out voluntarily. Catholics, the major Protestants. JWs. Iirc LDS was permitted to stay but also left. Keep in mind, it was a totalitarian state… anyone who tried to resist or rebel against it was punished- including people organized around a church.
