Hey guys. Just wanted to hear some opinions on the Hero Me system. I personally think it’s an neat idea and am definitely going to build one. What do you think? Have you used it?

Very flexible in terms of what it supports. Somewhat difficult to assemble (maybe they fixed that in the latest release). Works pretty well. But honestly it’s going to depend on what printer you are using it on. When I did it on the ender 3 it didn’t really make a big difference, that printer is slow and additional cooling wasn’t needed. If you are printing filaments that benefit from lots of cooling and are printing fast it can be helpful to get multiple 5015 fans running.

One nice thing is that you can choose some fans that are bigger (4020 and 5020) and run them at lower speeds to reduce noise.

Thanks! I like the easy upgradability (for example upgrading the extruder without much hassle). I read that 5020s have lower static pressure, and need to be run faster. I’m going to use sunon maglev everywhere anyway, so sound is unlikely to be an issue. I have an Ender 3 v2 and want to print with giant sized nozzles. Already have a dragon hf and am using it with the youmaketech bmg upgrade. But the included duct does not cool evenly from both sides, so I decided to switch to Hero Me. Cheers and happy printing!
