Curling my toes as I tie my laces has been a game changer. I got this advice for the first time over a month ago. A salesperson watching me try on the sneakers I bought suggested I try this, and it has worked great. My feet are so much more comfortable, and I haven’t had any painful foot cramps that I thought were inevitable before!

YMMV, of course. It may help people who have high arches in particular, since I’d guess that it helps our arches prop themselves up instead of getting smushed while we apply pressure to tie the laces.

Also, in case you were wondering, I don’t think this new-found comfort can be attributed to the new sneakers I got. I bought the same brand/type of sneakers I usually get, but I did try them on because they were a new “version” of the same sneakers I wore. (ICYC, it’s Brooks Ghost, I think the old version was 13 and the new one was 14? Not sure.)
