We were always so poor growing up, relatively speaking, we had a decent standard of living. Never had any money for toys and vacations, but when that collection basket came around we somehow always had enough to donate at least a twenty. Sometimes I even got to drop it in the basket. All for the privilege of being brainwashed and bored out of my mind for a couple of hours every Sunday.
