Not only that, the number of innocent civilians killed by the American forces was totally disproportionate to the American loss. 0.15% of their population vs 0.001% for the US.
I think most Americans still consider Afghanistan justified, but recognize Iraq as a mistake based on lies. It’s not that they ignore it, it’s just easier to swallow.
