The new season pass exotic grenade launcher (Ex Diris) is pretty neat - it continually reloads itself from reserves, fires arc-on-impact rounds and creates “loyal moths” which are like arc souls that seek out enemies and explode on them, blinding them. Add some arc souls and you’ve got multiple active defense buddies swarming around.
I ran the first mission with arclock subclass and it was fun to use - at first I thought it was more used like a wave frame, but after some practice figured out it’s best used like a direct hit GL (like say disorienting perk or spike) as it has almost no blast radius (22) and velocity (10) but high aim assistance (71). Curious now to see what the catalyst for it will do…
Mechanically it feels good but it completely falls apart in any content that’s not just base difficulty. The grenades stop killing in one hit even on direct impact of trash mobs, it’s like the lowest damage special ever. It only feels good in low level content, kinda like last seasons exotic really.
