We’re slowly accumulating users here so I figure I will throw this out there. Right now pretty much all of the icons and banners on the instance are AI generated art courtesy of Midjourney. While that has its own appeal given my username, I would be more than happy to replace it with user-submitted improvements (even more AI generated stuff. I’m not all that great at getting what I want out of the AI anyway). In exchange I can offer you a shout out in the community/instance description or something in addition to the karmic benefit of contributing to the instance. :)
I agree, the current icon for this instance is too “clean”.

I don’t use midjourney so I don’t know if we can just use that picture outright without generating it ourselves but it’s another option.
I don’t actually know either. When you pay for Midjourney you get commercial rights for images you generated, but I think probably not for other random images generated by others.
I can give it a shot, if I get some guidelines. What is it you are looking for?
The biggest one that I think could be better is the instance icon itself. Getting Midjourney to spit out a plausible looking space station is damn near impossible as far as I can tell. This wiki article has a good piece of concept art and as much description of the station as is ever given in the books. Something that stays true to that and actually looks plausible would be awesome.
Maybe not today, but I look into what I can try to draw up.
