Okay, so now that it’s been a little while since 9000 came out, and we’ve got the 105w TDP modes available. Why did it seem that so many people were upset about Zen 5 performance?

AFAIK, Zen 5 wasn’t supposed to really be more performant than Zen 4, it was supposed to be an efficiency increase instead? It’s actual IPC increase was definitely huge as performance wise, the chips get similar or marginally better performance than Zen 4 at nearly half the required wattage and heat output. That’s a great thing, no?

I’m just confused as to why it seemed there was such a huge outcry over the performance of Zen 5. Is it just that people are now used to Intel and their multi-hundred watt processors that an actual 65W part is a disappointment to them?

Was anyone here actually genuinely upset over the performance of Zen 5, or were they just following the herd mentality?
