I have the original PPV broadcast of this recorded on home VHS, and it’s one of my favorite tapes. What a fight! Tyson was an absolute maniac, back then.
This is the fight that started a million proto-memes, about ear consumption.
I was at a wedding that night. The groom’s grandfather was an old boxer who went home to watch this fight. When he came back the whole place was a-buzz with the ear story. Needless to say, not everyone was impressed.
