With the recent influx my instance is barely able to keep up. I am talking about loading times of 10 seconds and more for thread comments which are near instantaneous for smaller servers. Search is technically unusable.

So how is your experience with that? Have you had to migrate your account because of that?

    Rock solid, I’ve had no issues since moving away from a larger instance. I had to clear my cache and cookies once it was upgraded but other than that, I’m very happy

      So you had also performance issues on a large instance? I thought at this point the performance of Mastodon and its bigger instances are scaling cleanly enough to not be such a pain.

        Yeah I was initially on lemmy.world and had lots of issues posting comments, voting, submitting, etc. Both in browser and using a few different apps.

          Uhm, this is primarily about Mastodon, that’s why I posted it here. Lemmy.world is fixed and runs near perfect now. There had been CPU spikes all over the place in 18.1 pre-releases, but it was fixed.

            Ah right, apologies, I didn’t read the post correctly. I use Calckey over Mastodon so I couldn’t really advise
