My perspective from within my bubble is the same as Chunk’s. For context I’d say I’m left of center across most issues- I’d not realized that the right might have a different perspective actually, I kinda assumed that folks on the right also felt like Trump was the strong favorite for conservatives, particularly that for that brand of conservatism

I often go to /r/conservative to get a perspective from their side. Their perspective seems to be that the left is afraid of DeSantis, so they’re always portraying him in a bad light and that he is actually gaining in the polls. I do think DeSantis could have been a lot more formidable if he hadn’t become outright woke-warrior (to the extent that he even supports that ad about trump being to supportive of lgbt). His whole appeal was that he was Trump without the baggage, but now he’s collecting baggage like they’re pokemon.

        Interesting…

And yeah, I’d say I share your perspective, he’s never seemed like he had the same cult of personality that trump does so I just assumed he’d need to compete by being something different, but maybe there’s appeal among conservatives because he doesn’t have that same cult of personality…? No idea. I’d be curious to hear the perspective of someone who finds him more appealing than trump, I’m sure they have their reasons just like anyone else 🤷
