I see to many political memes and shitposts with the same formula “this opinion good other side opinion bad” (sometimes if you are lucky a “meme” will explain outright how the other side is bad) and people that agree with the “good” opinion lose there shit, not knowing the reason they find it funny is just because the joke agrees with there opinion. If they see the other side using the same formula but with there opinion they will get mad and vice versa. Left nor the right are exempt (can not talk about centralist i had a hard time finding there own humor) and i can not stop seeing the same god damn thing every time, but there are some actual good jokes that both sides can pull out by making the other side a bit silly but not over the top and if they are really fun (in my opinion) they will pull themselves down and the other side down as the butt of the joke maybe a little deeper then them. Those clever made jokes still do not get as much attention as “this opinion good other side opinion bad” and the easiness of making “this opinion good other side opinion bad” joke can make the cleverly made jokes get buried with the cheaply made jokes making it harder to find which makes me sad and frustrated.

(sorry for bad english btw if i did anything wrong)

Political memes, cartoons, satire in general is funny if it’s funny imo - generally as long as it’s punching up, original and clever.

Everything in politics is fair game for criticism whether it’s on ‘my side’ or not. But it’s better if it’s funny.

What I don’t like (read - actively hate) is the repetitive cut and paste Wojak/Chad memes that tend to be used by both sides to attack anyone from trans people to Christians. They’re using the mask of ‘making a joke about issues’ to have a go at people. Luckily since I left Reddit for here I’ve not seen one. They’re everywhere over there.
