This conflict has the potential to completely unravel NATO if it loses sufficient credibility when Ukraine gets resoundingly defeated despite the collective backing of all of NATO. At the very least a Russian victory will force a restructuring of the European security architecture and a rollback of NATO encroachment. And either way even now while conflict is still ongoing Russia showing the world that it is possible to stand up to the US empire and its “rules based order” has drastically changed the global balance of power. It has been a catalyst for the kinds of revolutionary developments that we have seen take place such as the wave of anti-colonial uprisings across Africa, the forging of closer ties between the various targets of the US empire (Russia, Iran, China, DPRK, Venezuela, etc.) and the stunning expansion of BRICS+.

I was just listening to Vijay yesterday, he was saying if Russia loses it will be a nuke war. I mean it’s either a Russian victory or negotiations or a nuke. Negotiations won’t happen because that means US has to concede that it has lost the war and global hegemony and Russia victory seems to be the only way out of this huge crisis.

Negotiations are going to take place sooner or later but they very likely won’t be over Ukraine, rather over the European security architecture and the rollback of NATO presence in eastern Europe. That is the only way out of this crisis short of nuclear war. As for Ukraine itself i think Russia will just impose terms there.

Yeah negotiations will only happen when the Europeans will get up from their cozy beds. I expected French to do some protests on this issue but alas. Also germans let go off NS1 and 2.

It is incomprehensible how the Europeans ever thought they could simply exclude Russia from having a say in the security arrangements in Europe. But they made their bed and now they have to lie in it. And Germany will be the worst affected, they’ve all but sacrificed their entire economy on the altar of russophobia and atlanticism.

I think it’s due to that fact remnants of previous Nazism and colonialists remained in power. I mean people in US and UK were never taught the true history of USSR and white colonialism of British. They also made Hitler and stalin equivalent. Political studies in Western countries are mostly ahistorical and here comes all nonsensical people funded by NATO

Another factor is the economic damage that the west is suffering as the result of the sanctions war with Russia. Europe in particular is now going into a deep recession, and having to keep pumping money into NATO is only going to make the problem worse. We’re already starting to see bickering amongst European countries, and internal dissent rising. I expect these trends to continue going forward. Meanwhile, a large chunk of neocons in US now sees European theatre as a distraction from China. If the war in Ukraine is decisively lost then it’s entirely possible that US decides to abandon Europe and focus on Asia instead.

On the other hand, it might create the illusion that USA is a total paper tiger (despite the nuclear submarines) and embolden politicians who don’t comprehend the toll of war. Plus it would make USA want to do something to restore their reputation
