I’m going to start running a daily discussion around cards, relics, enemies etc. just as they do on the subreddit. I figured the format is good so we can just copy it and tweak if needed. Let me know if you’d like something else from these discussions

Demon Form (Power)

Energy Cost: 3

At the end of your turn, gain 2 (Upgraded: 3) Strength

(Strength: Buff. Increases attack damage by 1 for each point of Strength.)

IMO this card is both bait for new players and sometimes wrongfully ignored by experienced players. It’s way too slow to be your main late-game scaling, but sometimes you just need 10 strength for Fiend Fire to kill Bronze Automaton before turn 7. I’m never excited to see this as a boss reward, but do pick this up occasionally in order to round out my deck.

I am not a particularly good player, so y’all probably know better than I but… I will often pick this up if I have a good source of extra energy. If not, I find it a waste of deck space.

That’s a good point, it’s much more pickable with 5 energy or especially pickable with a Snecko Eye

It’s dangerous to take in act 1. But I’m certainly happy to take it in act 2 or later. Snecko ,mummified hand, extra energy sources, make it more takeable. Yes it’s a dead card in a lot of hallway fights but it’s a 1 card solution to act 2 boss, act 3 boss, and giant head.

It’s good to not overestimate it’s value as a source of infinite strength, but even better to not overcompensate in the wrong direction and write off it’s value.

I do like to use it, but I usually end up stacking inflames and Jax instead most of the time. I’ll pick it up if I see it though!
