PiS is catofash, interwar style. Konfederacja is basically really a confederation of political rejects from other rightwing parties: libertarians, neonazis, monarchists and remnants of the weird right-populist experiments which main bodies got eaten by PiS.
I don’t think they are lesser evil and i don’t think they will survive their (unlikely) success - the only thing keeping them together is their lust for parliament stools.
The problem is there is no mainstream left party who can counter US imperialist project which is war mongering against China and Russia. Even within the Republican hard right you can find some anti ukro war thing going on where as Bernie and AOC are calling for more weapons in. Even if Bernie did a powerful campaign against MIC and both parties, majority of Yanks would have gone for him but alas there is no hope for mainstream left libs project. Exactly. It is honestly sad to see some of the worst scum of the right wing be more anti-war than the mainstream so-called “left”. There are ZERO Democrats in either the House or the Senate who are against continuing to arm and fund Ukrainian Nazis. Think about that. Yet there is a growing minority of Republicans who if not outright hostile to the neocon Ukraine project at least are extremely skeptical of it and demand accountability. Democrats, including the so-called “progressives” have all voted against even the slightest amount of oversight or moderation. All you get from them is full speed ahead, more war, more weapons, blank cheque, as long as it takes…
And the same dynamics are at play in Europe too with most of the establishment-compatible, socdem left having also fully jumped on board with the Ukraine war agenda. And what is most interesting is that the most accurate predictor of support for Ukraine in Europe is actually support for the EU. All leftist parties who were pro-EU before have all turned into full on NATO enthusiast warmongers. While all the parties on both the fringe left and the right who were anti-EU have remained skeptical of the whole affair. This more than anything else has proved to me that any notions i may have once had of some kind of critical support for the EU as an ostensibly internationalist project being ok to have as a leftist were deeply misguided and naive.
The EU, like NATO, is a tool of imperialism, a thoroughly neoliberal and unreformable institution that only serves to keep Europe under the domination of Washington and to prevent any and all semblance of socialism or independence in Europe.
This more than anything else has proved to me that any notions i may have once had of some kind of critical support for the EU as an ostensibly internationalist project being ok to have as a leftist were deeply misguided and naive.

EU seen from Poland around 2004 looked like a welcome reprive from the catofash idiocy eating the country, since even with rampant blairism everywhere it really was noticeably more to the left to the polish neoliberal-catholic bog called “compromise” by every govt here even the succdems. Plus EU was determined to literally bribe Poland so that actually got a lot of infrastructure built.
But then with shit like the ACTA and the crackdown on Greece it was increasingly eveident the very declared purpose of European integration and cooperation is just a scam to lick German and American financiere boots. Nordstream bombing and participation in Ukraine war dealth a killing blow for this project and any hope for it. I don’t think there was ever a case in history when even a single country, not to mention a coalition of countries, sabotaged themselves for the benefit of another one.
Ended up just as Lenin said (over a century ago) anything like it would end.
