This community is open for comments and discussion! A swift quick from @[email protected] alerted me that my placeholder post gave the impression that in order to participate you needed to be a moderator of the Reddit community of the same name. You don’t; posts and comments regarding Sex Over the Age of 30 can be made by anyone!

It’s my hope that over time this community will develop into the same thriving and helpful place as the subreddit its based on. To that end I’ll be doing some ‘decorating’ around here over the next couple days, primarily setting up the community rules and hopefully adding a few folks to the mod team.

Welcome!

I was fairly active in the reddit community of the same name for a while, it was a place that helped me at a time that I needed to be able to openly ask questions and it was satisfying to be able to share in conversation with other people at a similar point in life. I am happy to have found this place and am excited at the opportunity to participate in similar conversations (and new ones) and to see this community grow.

Welcome Kelpie! Were you using the same name on SO30? If so I quasi remember, at least your username.

…it was a place that helped me at a time that I needed to be able to openly ask questions and it was satisfying to be able to share in conversation with other people at a similar point in life.

As I said to another commenter it’s really gratifying to hear this! The mod team of SO30 works diligently to use the lightest touch possible while maintaining a place where people can safely ask for advice and express themselves. It isn’t easy some days; the entirety of the Internet along with their various cultures show up plus there’s a lot of trolls and MGTOW / WGTOW people that need to be managed.

I’m glad that we were able to provide a place where your relationship got helped and I hope that together we can replicate it here on Lemmy!
