Serious question: Why is Kompany struggling so badly in the Premier League? He looked really good in the Championship, and everyone including me thought that he would be able to stay up comfortably.
Is it because he’s had a hard set of fixtures or are they really bad?

toney is superior in the air and at dealing with big CBs, it gives the team a new dimension that doesn’t really exist atm, giving a alternative way to play if needed

I don’t hate the toney idea but it seems superfluous because look what Tomi and Kai did last game - when we need it, we have quite good Ariel outlet now, we just havent chosen to play that way very much. why get an entire whole other striker for that? I would choose a more creative type profile maybe, or an Alvarez type player whatever that means.
Because they’re trying to play attacking football against vastly better sides and simply arent used to the pressure and level of skill of their opponents leading to an awful lot of stupid mistakes in defence leading to goals.
It’s funny really, the reason everyone said Luton would struggle is very similar to the reason everyone said Burnley would do well, “they play expansive attacking football that will/won’t transfer to the Prem.” The main difference is everyone knows Kompany.
Funny that everyone just ran with the “Burnley will do well” story too, as if any of them actually watched more than a few Burnley highlights.
No X factor. Small teams can’t play a “team” sport( for lack of a better word). They need an X factor. Someone who stands out and gets you those 10 goals. They don’t have a “front three” or a midfield “3”. They have no solutions off bench.
They don’t have that man.
