Used to love playing this on PC. Sequel wasn’t bad either.

Nothing more rage inducing than smacking into regular traffic when your almost to the finish line in first place.

The car customization was fun too.

Yes! Everyone praises Underground 2 but for me the first Underground just has something special in itself. Maybe it all blends better together or it’s the soundtrack or just the nostalgia

I was put off at the time by the switch to free roam map in the sequel. First is definitely my fave.

I can still hear that opening track.

They’re both so good it’s hard for me to decide, underground 2 is probably my favourite of the 2, but 1 is definitely the more important impactful game and I feel the driving is better. I still think that NFSU 1 has the absolute god tier pinnacle of what I want and like in an arcade handling model. Most wanted, and nfsu2 were good in their own ways, but once they switched to that god awful handling model around 2010 where every car feels like a sled of bricks, and you just press a button to drift and gain speed while drifting it’s been garbage ever since. Not that I’d buy another NFS these days anyways because I’m utterly done with EA’s shit and refuse to buy anything from them.

The game is getting a ray tracing conversion (via RTX Remix). It’s still in the early stages but from what I’ve seen so far, it looks amazing. The reflections on the wet asphalt are so good.

This was the first game i got for myself, and i cant count on ten hands how many times i played it through, it was literally the only thing i did besides eating, sleeping and going to school for the better part of a year 😅
