A little while back, AIOE was my go to for news groups, but it disappeared. I remember seeing something about a disaster at the server site or something. I guess I should remove it from thunderbird, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.
Can’t find any info on what happened, but by it’s continued absence, I figure it’s never coming back. Rest in peace AIOE.
Have you moved over to news.eternal-september.org? I don’t know if there are any other free options, and the commercial providers seem to be focused on a level of bandwidth way too high for people reading text-based newsgroups.
Not yet. I’ve heard of it of course, I’ve just been holding onto the hope that AIOE would come back one day.
