On my Mint installation, Firefox running causes my sound to crackle. If I try the same site (say, Odysee) in Midori or Chromium, everything is normal while Firefox isn’t running, but with Odysee playing, if I so much as open Firefox and let it sit on the landing page, my sound will begin to crackle until I decide to close it, at which time it quits in a few seconds. It also sounds like crap when I try to send Firefox to Odysee. It’s the same for if I send it to another site, like YouTube or Pandora, as well as finding videos on r/BreathOfTheWild via Reddit.
Very odd, does it happen with other apps and browsers it all?
To do more troubleshooting I need you computer specs.
I know it has been a bit, but here’s what I got. Maybe something will stick out to someone more trained than myself.

Why are you running pipewire? I though that mint didn’t ship with it by default?
Anyway try this:
- Type ‘about:config’ in the address bar, accept warning and press Enter.
- Disable speech-dispatcher in reader-mode (show only text of an html document) because it injects a nasty noise: Find ‘media.webspeech.synth.enabled’ and set it to ‘false.’
I acutally didn’t make any chanes to the system beyond just install the userspace apps I like, like Cura, Telegram, and the like, though I will look into Pipewire.
