The first time I used Lemmy I signed up with lemmy.world - and it was great until lemmy.world suddenly refused to allow me to log in - I’d hit the login button, it would spin a bit and… nothing. That was about a year ago.

In frustration I made a new account with lemmy.ml - and it was great until lemmy.ml suddenly refused to allow me to log in - I’d hit the login button, it would spin a bit and… nothing. That was a few days ago.

I tried researching the problem, but it seems the only answer people with this problem get has something to do with unverified emails, which doesn’t apply to me (both accounts had verified email addresses)

So… can anyone tell me how long this third account of mine will last?

edit: Thanks for all the effort, people… I think I got the information I needed.

Idk tbh. Nor do I know how inter-instance modlog search works. I can’t see any bans on your name from my instance, but there’s a uh lot of comment removals lol. Have you tried searching your name in the modlog from the respective instances?

I’m sorry but I cannot read your post. I clicked on it, it would spin a bit and… nothing.

Both are masquenox. I never got to spend much time on lemmy.world, but I invested a lot of energy into the lemmy.ml one. Is there a chance I could get it back?

You were banned for violating rule 1 and rule 2, and the ban will expire in two days. You might have been banned on your world account, but there’s no record of it. In any case you are not banned on LW and may be able to log in now.

Rule 1: No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia.

Rule 2: Be respectful, especially when disagreeing. Everyone should feel welcome here.

My guess is picking fights with authoritarian leftists and calling them “tankies” is what attracted the wrath of the mods.

Lemmy.ml mods tend towards the authoritarian left, and consider use of that insult bigotry. Unless you plan on changing your political orientation, you might be better off on a different Lemmy instance.

TIL… champange socialists are a persecuted ethnic group.

Anyway… that was a lot of effort you put in. Thanks.
