    Yeah here I’m pretty sure it’s the driver gets a fine and the passenger too if they’re over 16yo

          The driver still has to pay for it, which is usually going to be your parents, who would probably be footing the bill anyways if you’re that young.

            I misread it and thought that the driver got a citation for any adult passengers that weren’t buckled in but not minor passengers. The adult passengers getting their own citations while the driver getting the citations for unbuckled minors makes a lot more sense.

              Actually it sounds like the driver gets the citation either way. If the passenger is a minor, that’s it, but adult passengers get cited in addition to their drivers.

          The other guy summed it up, but I’d like to add that children can’t be held to the same standards as adults. Still developing brains and all that jazz, which is why it becomes the adults responsibility.
