  • I think Vsauce is a lot more grifty than he looks. If you look at the really early videos they were very different and he changed his content wildly in order to find something that makes the most money with the least work. The science education happened to be profitable but as the Meta started favouring more than 10+ min and science vids became mini documentaries he just dropped off and started reviewing science toys and do compilation videos. Right now he is doing a lot of shorts because they are being pushed by the algorithm.

  • You know what is worse? Depressed bed blobs pretending that they are introverts and normalizing antisocial behaviour. Healthy introverts have and regularly meets friends. They just don’t do it as often and in the same way as extroverts. I know these things because I went to therapy instead of trying to normalize my insecurities on the internet.

  • NFTs does not let you own images. The weird monkey company still owns all the monkeys. You own a piece of code that you can trade and monkey company pinky swears to keep a database where each piece of code has one unique monkey.

Should the monkey company ever want to go back on that promise they can just have 2 codes have the same image with no legal consequences.

  • Community points isn’t supposed to be valuable. This is about making people start a vault/wallet and engage in crypto in a way that is fun and non threatening. They already tried it with the avatars but I doubt it got a whole lot of traction. At some point the real crypto currency will appear and suddenly reddit will have a platform with a couple of millions users that already has a wallet set up and ready. That will make reddit one of the biggest crypto platforms on the internet.

This is also what the API thing was about. Third party apps didnt/couldn’t include the vault on their apps so a lot of user didn’t even know the vault existed until now.
