that kind of implies MLs, “tankies,” etc aren’t Western leftists as well. separating material analysis from one’s own societal conditions is more complex than just blanket-denouncing swathes of other ideological positions. I think if you live in the West and you’re a leftist, that definitionally makes you a “Western leftist.”
