  • Oh no they’ve always collected it themselves, you just have to wade through ~4K pages of tax code that has averaged one change a day for the last decade.

But if you get it wrong, they’ll happily mail you a correction if you erred low. Plus penalties and interest of course.

The middle men like Intuit are a symptom of the legislature trying to use taxes to incentivize or disincentivize every little thing and still get pork for their districts. There’s a good 20 pages of code and case law on the depreciably of race horses that I’m sure the Senators from Kentucky had a hand in.

  • Kinda both. Commercial ammunition production is a capital intensive industry. This results in a market that is slow to respond to changes in demand due to the large costs to increase/decrease capacity. COVID/Summer Protests brought a lot of new gun owners and old gun owners looking for ammo, but this kind of thing has happened before. If they’re old enough, people will remember the Obama and AWB/Clinton years brought about similar price increases. Major ammo producers are reluctant to invests in capacity unless they deem the bump in demand to be more or less permanent.

The solution to this is to buy infrequently, and in quantity to get the best price per round. E.G. the Costco method or ‘buy cheap and stack deep.’ Consider buying a case of 500 rounds instead of 50. You should consider using an internet based reseller if your state allows. https://ammoseek.com/ is a good resource to find the best prices.

  • Good stuff, white nail polish is a much cheaper version of the gold beads the old timers used. If you feel out of control with magnum rounds, try 2 3/4" #4 buck. It tends to pattern tighter as well.

You might be a lefty but swapping shoulders when maneuvering same handed corners is standard practice. Food for thought, and the reload might be faster.

50 feet isn’t really proper rifle distance, for some more fun try working your way out to 300 meters in increments, as your range allows.

I tend to avoid Florida, too hot and I’m scared of Florida-man.

  • I made some assumptions since the flags look to be the Free Papua Movement dudes, so the copies are the Indonesian versions

    1. M3A1 Grease Gun (.45 ACP)
    2. Pindad SS2 A1 (5.56 NATO) with grenade launcher (40mm)
    3. can’t tell, possibly same as 7
    4. can’t tell, possibly 1911 (.45 ACP)
    5. Pindad SS2 (5.56 NATO)
    6. Pindad SS1 (FN FNC copy) (5.56 NATO)
    7. Pindad SP-1 (Beretta BM 59 copy) (7.62 NATO)
    8. Milled sythetic stocked 7.62x39 AK variant, possibly a Chinese Polytech

  • I applaud your spirit but hesitate at your armory. Some recomendations:
-Mount a light to your shotgun for positive target identification.
-Swap your shell card to the receiver of your shotgun. Currently you can’t get a right handed cheek weld, which would prevent entering a room to the left.
-Sig, Vortex, and Holosun make affordable lines of optics if you’d like to upgrade from generic ones which are unlikely to withstand higher round counts.
