On the plus side, I do applaud the fact that two left-wing parties (GroenLinks and Timmermans’ PvdA (Green party and Labour Party)) have merged. The Second Chamber has become very fragmented with currently 21(!) parties among 150 members. More is not always better, imho.

In the Netherlands we complain a lot about gas prizes, costs of groceries. et cetera.
But regarding internet we have come a long way. Fiber is available to approximately 50% of the households currently (and they are expanding fast)
Mobile data is really seen as a commodity. 5G with unlimited data is €25/€30 a month (depending on the carrier). Although 5G in the Netherlands is not yet up to speed (3,5GHz will become available soon), the realistic speeds achieved are more then decent. (Benefit of having a crowded, flat country)

Well… To be honest I am cheating a little bit. Fixies are cool, but in a city like Rotterdam it’s also a bit suicidal.
I have used the rear hub from SRAM which is often used in foldable bikes. That way I can coast, it has two gears (shift automatically due to centrifugal force) and it has a back-paddle brake.
That’s also why I don’t have to use straps/click ons.
