@useless_modern_god Nope it’s English, it’s an Irish-Filipino production. Most of it is filmed in Ireland and there are some flashback scenes in the Philippines but they’re subtitled.
I like the movie, it goes in really surprising places. I haven’t seen another English-language horror movie covering global south labour exploitation so it deffo gets bonus points for that one.

@alternativenation Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot, a song on the same album, has more of the jangly guitar sound that I associate with Johnny Marr.

The song is about being unable to forget a lover, how he looks for them at night, and wondering how long he’ll have to wait until they’re together again in the course of his difficult life.
I haven’t heard much of this band but some songs seem to have an alternative 80s vibe, which explains why they’re playing the same show as Flock of Seagulls in Manila.
