Is that Disney is good at making their films seem like “must see” events, that they’re perceived as a cultural staple.

Disney has really struggled with this the last few years though.

I think the era of stars at that level is over.

5 years is short lived?

Well I’m gladly eating crow. Other than some occasional weird CGI this movie was awesome. And I was down on Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth but both of them were awesome.

Honestly I’m the same way with Marvel. X-Men are the only ones I somewhat follow. I’m way more of an indie/sometimes DC person.

Only picked up Doom because it’s a oneshot and it’s written by Hickman.

Oh Briar #5 is out. It’s been a year since #4 but I remember liking the first arc. I think the hype for it was kind of killed by the release schedule.

Doom #1 was pretty good but the plot was a little thin. I feel like it was carried insanely hard by the art.

X-Men: Forever #4 - A very important moment for a bunch of main characters that gets some real emotion out of me. Unfortunately it continues to struggle with the incredibly rushed feeling of the Fall of X.

They pay for the ads right? Why not just have that 5 second clip be for the ad and not for the actual youtube video?

Edit: Okay so I actually read the article. Doesn’t seem like Peter Jackson is actually going to be directing (at least not yet). And the first movie is about Gollum . Hype levels have plummeted. I have faith that they’ll try to do their best but man I really hate how they’ve approached this franchise. More and more I think Christopher Tolkein was right when he talked about negative aspects about the mass commercialization of his father’s work.

Hi Will, really liked the short film. How long does something like this take to create? I assume it starts with writing a script and then all the way to when it’s ready for release.

Thanks! I try to post daily to keep it active and help grow it. But right now I’m mostly sharing news which doesn’t seem to garner too much discussion. I think I will take a page from your book and create more general and open ended posts that help facilitate conversation.

Seems like another soulless Disney remake. I think some of the shine has rubbed off now and I really doubt it’ll be nearly as profitable as the Lion King remake

Personally I don’t think Anya Taylor-Joy is the best casting for a young Furiosa and the first trailer I saw didn’t exactly raise my hopes. But I trust George Miller to do his best with this so I’m cautiously optimistic.
