  • Its likely that logitech software will be totally useless on the steam deck.

SteamDecks run Linux, (SteamOS) and the various games are ran using Proton, which is a variant of Wine.

You can install a program such as BOTTLES, which will let you easily run specific windows executable in .wine with a nice GUI. https://flathub.org/apps/com.usebottles.bottles

There are numerous other methods as well. On a more Normal Linux Distro, its possible to double click a .exe and have it loaded in wine, but the way the steamdeck OS is setup, makes it a bit harder to setup. So use ‘bottles’ is likely the best option.

But from my experience with Logitech devices and software in the past, the various tools never run in wine.

Give the URL to the exact tool/software and perhaps there are alternatives to be found.

You talking about the G Hub software? https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/innovation/g-hub.html

Is it feasible to play video games on the steam deck and have an enjoyable experience.

Well. thats what its made for. So yes.

It is an X86 Linux PC Running SteamOS which can run most Windows Games via the Proton feature of Steam.

Its the most affordable and flexible hand held gaming system out at this time.

You can stream your PS4/5 games to the Deck, so you can play your PS4/5 games while sitting in the front room, and the PS* is in the back of the house. :)

Then theres the HUGE emulation scene.

  • I will mention that you can stream your PS4 and PS5 games to your Deck with the chiaki and chiaki4deck programs. But the initial setup can be a little annoying and may confuse some people.

I cant even think of any exclusives. :) I will say be sure to watch the HumbleBundle site for often great deals to fill up your steam library, and there are numerous Free give away games from sites like GOG, and Epic, and the Amazon prime Gaming, which can be played on the Deck with helpers like “Heroic Games Launcher” or “Lutris”.

Then theres the HUGE emulation area, which can keep you busy for a long long time. Numerous GameCube Classics run great on the Deck. (and others)

Good Luck - the Deck is one of (if not THE) most versatile and flexible game system out.
