On older honda and some subarus the studs are just weak. The amount of times I go to take off lug nuts on a honda or subaru and after I zip it off I find the stud snapped is to often.
That being said the shop should of let you know it happened in the first place and should pay for you to get a new one installed since they broke it. So I’d just take it back.
Here’s and easy trick for future instead of having to get under and pull the drain plug to remove excess oil.
Go to Walmart and geat some of the longes clear fish tank rubber tubing you can and get the biggest syringe you can off of Amazon. Then stick the fish tank tubing down the dipstick tube. stick the other end of the fishtanl tubing onto the syringe and suck out the oil with the syringe. I’ve done it before and it works great.
Or buy an actual oil pump.

I’d agree with the guy saying you could do it yourself. But I don’t agree with just only following a youtube video. If you did it yourself I’d make sure to also have a service manual(you can purchase online for like 15 bucks) as I’ve found that the people on YouTube videos often get torque specs wildly wrong and often what they tell you is way to low and isn’t in spec at all or sometimes they dont ivem use torque specs and just ugga dugga which is horrible.
Take a couple quarts with you on your trip to. Check the oil level when you stop for gas.

I drive the piss outta my 14 mazda 6 so I change it every 3K cause the viscosity breaks down from high rpms.
A normal modern car driven normally I’d say 5000 miles is fine. I personally wouldn’t go anything over 7K period.
When I got my Mazda 6 at 120k I replaced the trans fluid and I just did again at 130K. Drain and refill doesn’t remove all the transmission fluid so when I changed it the second time today it was still dark and nasty looking. Now after doing it the 2nd time I’m able to go longer without changing it. I’m probably gonna change it 15K miles from now.
When I was doing suspension work on my Mazda and had to wait for a new bolt arrived my car sat on 3 ton jack stands for like a whole week. So if it sat for a whole week without falling then it ain’t gonna fall for the few hours when I’m underneath is the way I see it.
