I close my game for the cloud sync when I’m done with the session. I only put it to sleep during game running when I got interrupted during my play time to do something else.

Cloud sync doesn’t occur until the game close. I recalled that there was supposed to be seamless cloud sync or whatever that lets you pick up the game right off from your PC but that has never work for me on the games I play on Steam Deck and PC. So the good old cloud sync after closing the game will do for now.

What’s UPS stand for?

Just curious, so once you noticed that your machine is compromised. You didn’t bother to take it off the network?

Here’s what I would do:

1. take it off the network
2. scan the PC (off network and not with Kaspersky).
3. if any important file isn’t compromised, back those up.
4. nuke the HDD/SSD. I would use Killdisk but format would probably do.
5. reinstall OS and whatever you need after.

Best check all the machines on the network as well. Since you don’t exactly know how you got compromised, there are chances that other machines on the network are compromised as well.
