Porsche spans a fairly wide upper market segment, so Boxster buyers will be looking at different cars, than GTx or Turbo S owners.

When I bought my GT3, other cars I looked at were Aston Martins, Lotus, and M3. I really wanted something that could be used as a daily drive+track, so I looked briefly at Maseratis .

Too tall for Lotus (6’5")

Maseratis and Aston not really fitting into the reliable category either. But I certainly did like the Vantage and DB9.

Sound is very subjective.

I could care less how it sounds, as long as it passes sound levels at tracks. I bought the Dundon quiet muffler for that reason. Same weight, same HP.

I personally would like a quieter car. Less of a cop magnet, and would make talking easier…

Plenty of cars now have “fake” sound. Either fake bass pumped through the speakers, or special vibration panels.

Does it really matter? No matter which way you park, you’re still going the opposite when you leave, except if the spot is empty in front of you.

Crate GT3 engine probably goes for $70k+
