  • Heads up yall:

By deselecting/disabling everything under Firefox Data Collection and Use it should also disable Website Advertising Preferences which is the Privacy-preserving attribution (PPA) as mentioned in the article

That and I would honestly recommend installing Librewolf as an alternative browser (it’s Firefox but with privacy prioritized default settings)

Installing as a Flatpak via Flathub

    sudo pacman -S flatpak
    flatpak install flathub io.gitlab.librewolf-community

Installing on Arch Linux via Yay:

    ## Yay Install
    sudo pacman -S git
    git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git
    cd yay/
    makepkg -si

    ## Enter super user/or root password when prompted.

    ## Package installs with Yay
    yay -S librewolf-bin

  • Even if it were possible, personally I wouldn’t recommend using it as it would violate/contradict the system of trust and autonomy

    Forcing the belief of:

    • “you have to use Linux because I believe it’s good”
      • “because I believe x means you should believe y”;

onto someone makes that idea inherently untrustworthy and the foundations of its origin would be unstable.

My recommendation is that if you want people to use Linux or something because you trust it and want others to benefit in the same way; then it’s existence and systems contained within it should act as proof itself and shouldn’t have to be forced onto others

    • similar to opt-ins rather than opt-outs

  • Lawyers for some of the men accused of raping an unconscious French woman who had been drugged by her husband questioned her Wednesday about her habits, personal life and sex life, and even questioned whether she was truly unconscious during the encounters.

that’s absolutely ridiculous coming from the lawyers, what the fuck

and reading the rest of the article… was harrowing to say the least, so much nonsensical victim blaming going on

If they’ve seen the video evidence and have seen no autonomous activity from her (if what she says is true), wouldn’t you understand that none of this was consensual?

    Also Dominique Pélicot (the ex-husband)

already said during the trial that all of the accusations against him are true, came out in support of his ex-wife, saying, “Stop suspecting her all the time … I did many things without her knowing.”
