Both incidents aren’t equal, what I’m saying is that they were both caused by people who think it’s cool to break the rules and has no respect for the place they’re visiting. Protest about any issue you want, just not this way.
I’m not sure what not valid about criticizing the general attitude of giving unsolicited opinion through a screen while lacking the experience and cultural background to make such comments. I think that everyone can agree that it’s disrespectful to go to some place and start telling people there how things should be run, no matter how right you are

Fuck YOUR whataboutism. Where in my comment did I defend the homophobic law? The issue is definitely with foreigners having zero manners. Anyone who goes another country and knowingly break the law just because they think they’re right (even if they are) is called ignorant.
You’d think after doing the same thing in 2019 in UAE they’d tell their tour managers they don’t want to be booked into a homophobic country again? It wasn’t a “mistake”, it was all a fucking stunt. Maybe don’t do the same mistake again by doing the Indonesia tomorrow, which has similar homophobic laws
I think it’d make more sense when you realize most Asian countries are more sexually conservative. The average age to lose virginity is early to mid 20s as opposed to teenagers in Western countries. In countries like Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, you can’t even legally have sex before marriage.

Well, picking an instance itself already requires a bit of technical knowledge which filters out most of the idiots. That combined with lack of karma counter makes an average Lemmy interaction more genuine and less karma whoring
Maybe because lack of content? I open Lemmy, “oh the top posts are still the same as it was 6 hours ago”, goes back to doing what I was doing. I love it
Interactions also feel more genuine because of the lack of karma counter, at least not officially, a decision that I hope they keep. There are less karma whoring and more sharing your real thoughts here
wait, I thought I was on Reddit? well that’d explain the lack of enshittification of everything
he bought companies that anyone with a common sense can tell would be the future and have actually smart people work for him.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Elon called for a meeting every week to introduce some ridiculously stupid ideas and his scientists have to explain to him why it wouldn’t work
this just in: general population gives generally accepted opinions 🤯🤯
most people who visit MLF are just trying to fix their worse -than-“bland” style. once they learn how to dress and grow comfortable with a style, they’ll simply move on to their own niche sub
when has Meta delivered any of their promise?
tried Threads and it feels like Mastodon with all the good features removed, which is probably why people are leaving. Even after over 2 weeks, it’s still the exact same piece of shit as it was on its launch
In 2030s, everyone would probably start moving to Canada
“yes, but now you get 12 different new bugs instead”
I built a Python script that scrapes metadata from Spotify and apply it to songs downloaded off YouTube so it looks identical as if you bought the album.
I’ve been thinking to post it on like GitHub cause it’ll be useful for tons of people but I also don’t want to get sued
Meta? like the Facebook Meta? are there still Facebook phishing going on in 2023?
with all the tracking and data they collect, they should’ve been able to tell who’s logging into whose account before they do any damage
I feel sorry that you’ve been raised in an environment where you weren’t taught basic manners when voicing your opinion.
I said nothing about imprisoning people, I was saying how some foreigners have zero respect for the place they’re visiting simply because they feel morally superior.
