Oil level was at minimum so went to grab some oil and looked online, it said to get 0w20 but the shop I went to told me to use 0w40, just wondering if the difference can cause any damage or will it be okay? What do you use in your b48?

Not a B48 owner but I use the oil that BMW wants me to, not a shop. Best stick to what the manufacturer states
